KEENE—On Friday, December 3, more than 30 businesses will participate in the LGBT Wedding Festival of New England at Stonewall Farm in Keene, NH.
Spearheaded by Keene resident, Holly Long, the festival was created because some LGBT couples still face awkwardness or discrimination when planning their wedding. Currently, there are no wedding showcases devoted to members of this community, prompting Long to invite other wedding service providers who support marriage equality to come together so same-sex couples thinking of tying the knot can meet professionals who support their right to say “I do,” to the one they love.
Vendors and attendees from throughout New England are invited to attend. The goal of the festival is to unveil quality, reliable, professionals dedicated to providing a great experience regardless of a couple’s sexual orientation.
Long, a florist and owner of Naturally Elegant Designs, has organized dozens of wedding professionals for the festival which she says won’t be a typical wedding fair.
“It is is going to be a fun, interactive experience, with hands-on opportunities and educational breakout sessions. Plus live music, food samples and raffles,” she said.
Other committee members who will be exhibiting at the fair include Michael Bell, Naturally Elegant Designs, Florist; Dan Liberatore and Dave Perry, MasterPieces Cake Art; Jennifer Doyle, Stonewall Farms Event Director; Luke Evans, Green Mountain Tent Rentals; and Annie Card for the Monadnock Room at Hilltop Golf Course. Vendor space is still available. Individuals who wish to attend, are encouraged to register at https://www.lgbtweddingfestival.com.
Admission is $10 if purchased online before Thanksgiving; $15 after.
