On Saturday, February 12, Boston’s Gay Men’s Domestic Violence Project and the Providence Gay Men’s Chorus will present LOVE, a fundraiser promoting Healthy Relationships through the Harmony of Music, at the Providence Biltmore. Tickets are $35 and they include complimentary Hors D’oeuvres and cash bar.

The Imperial Court of Rhode Island and The New England Leather Alliance are having a Winter Leathermen’s Gathering on Saturday, February 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Providence Eagle/Union, 198-200 Union St., Providence. After attending the Fetish Flea, join Mr. Boston Leather 2011 and performers from the Imperial Court of Rhode Island for a buffet, demonstrations, and performances.
Price is $10 cover. Proceeds go to benefit the Leather Leadership Conference and the Gay Men’s Domestic Violence Project.

On Sunday, March 6, Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAD) is having a special celebration, Making History Rhode Island Changing Lives, at CAV Restaurant in Providence. With Speaker Gordon Fox’s commitment to bring marriage equality to the house for a vote this session and the inauguration of Governor Lincoln Chafee, marriage equality is going to be a key and hotly debated issue this year. There will be complimentary Hors d’oeuvres, Cash Bar, free parking across the street.

Massachusetts News Briefs
On February 26 and 27, there will be a Transgender Job Seminar, sponsored by AIDS Action Committee.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Back to Work project provides essential skills to transgender job seekers to successfully navigate the job search process. This two-day seminar is free and open to any unemployed or underemployed person who identifies as trans.

Get professional training from the career coaching professionals at the Foundation for New Directions, a trans-owned non-profit and the only national firm offering professional transgender job search assistance.
The event is co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition (MTPC), the Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Youth (BAGLY) and Mass Equality.

The first 30 registrants will receive free personalized post-seminar assistance from a certified career coach including résumé development, interview tips, negotiation skills and more. MassEquality is holding the Red Party, a major fundraising event on February 19. The event will be held at the Estate, 1 Boylston St., Boston. Tickets are $100.

Connecticut News briefs
The Hartford’s African American Caribbean Care  Team, funded by Ryan White Part A, will host an event in recognition of National Black HIV/ AIDS Awareness Day on Monday, February 7, at 5:30 p.m.  Participants will meet at Zezzo House on Homestead Avenue and walk to Bethel Mission Church on Albany Avenue for a candlelight vigil.
