NEW YORK—Lambda Legal has announced the launch of its Spanish language website with resources built specifically for U.S. Latinos and Spanish-speaking individuals.
“We’re very excited to present a more robust online resource for people who seek LGBT and HIV resources and information in Spanish,” said Francisco Dueñas, Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Proyecto Igualdad for Lambda Legal. “The Latino community is a diverse population that faces many of the issues where Lambda Legal advocates and litigates. Senior citizens, youth in schools, immigrants, transgender people, same-sex parents and people living with HIV are all part of the Latino community, and our new website will serve as a resource for those who need or prefer Spanish-language content.”
Lambda Legal has been publishing Spanish versions of its content since 2002 and the first “Impacto,” the Spanish version of its quarterly publication “Impact” was released in 2009. Since then, the need to provide Spanish language resources for the LGBT community and people living with HIV has only grown. The new site, located at www.lambdalegal.org/es includes major sections on “Qué Significa ‘LGBT?,'” “Después de DOMA” and “Derechos Transgénero.”
“Latinos and Latinas are looking for resources that speak directly to them,” added Dueñas. “We look forward to building upon the existing site as more and more progress is made in the fight for equality for the LGBT community and those living with HIV.”
Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.
