Attorney General Maura Healey and The Network/La Red to be honored for their contributions to the LGBTQ community at the 2018 Beacons of Light event.
BOSTON—MassEquality, the Commonwealth’s leading statewide, grassroots LGBTQ advocacy organization, will honor Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey and The Network/La Red at the 2018 Beacons of Light Dinner and Icon Awards Ceremony on Thursday, March 22 at the Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge, MA. The evening honors the 2018 Icon Award winners, who were chosen for their exceptional leadership, voice, advocacy and commitment to bettering the lives of the LGBTQ community.
Attorney General Maura Healey, the first openly gay state attorney general in the United States, will receive the Political Icon Award.
The Network/La Red, a survivor-led social justice organization that works to end partner abuse in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, BDSM, polyamorous, and queer communities, will receive the Community Icon Award.
MassEquality also welcomes Boston Roller Derby to Beacons of Light 2018, where the Derby girls will play a fun and unique role in the evening’s festivities.
