Endorsees are strong advocates and will help make great advancements for the LGBTQ community
BOSTON, Mass. ─ Today, the MassEquality PAC announced its first round of legislative endorsements of candidates for the state Legislature.
Senate incumbent endorsees include: Senators Harriette Chandler (First Worcester), Sonia Chang-Diaz (2nd Suffolk), Pat Jehlen (2ndMiddlesex), Jason Lewis (5th Middlesex), and Dan Wolf (Cape & Islands).
House incumbent endorsees include: Representatives Denise Andrews (2nd Franklin), Evandro Carvalho (5th Suffolk), Dan Cullinane (12thSuffolk), Marjorie Decker (25th Middlesex), Gloria Fox (7th Suffolk), Paul Heroux (2nd Bristol), David Linsky (5th Middlesex), Brian Mannal (2nd Barnstable), Denise Provost (27th Middlesex), Frank Smizik (15th Norfolk), and Tim Toomey (26th Middlesex).
“These incumbents have clearly shown an immense dedication to LGBTQ issues and have consistently championed vital legislation that has helped our community,” said MassEquality Executive Director Kara Coredini. “We are proud to throw our endorsement behind each of these candidates and look forward to working with them in fighting for full lived equality for all.”
The MassEquality PAC will also be endorsing Barbara L’Italien (2nd Essex and Middlesex) who is running for the Senate seat being vacated by Barry Finegold and first-time candidate Eric Lesser for the 1st Hampden & Hampshire open Senate seat being vacated by Senator Gale Candaras.
First-time MassEquality PAC endorsees for the House include: Mike Day (31st Middlesex), Phil DeCologero (14th Essex), Michelle DuBois (10th Plymouth), Ivette Hernandez (10th Hampden), and Steve Ultrino (33rd Middlesex).
“These seven candidates have the platforms and experience to be true champions for the LGBTQ community,” Kara Coredini added. “Their collective experience, compassion and acute sensitivity to LGBTQ issues are the key ingredients they need to become the influential legislative advocates who will continue to make Massachusetts a leader in progressive politics.”
